Customers wishing to port numbers across to or away from the Fido VoIP platform need to know the following
Porting to VoIP is not the same as moving line rental to Fido under BT WLR3 (Wholesale Line Rental v3)
Porting numbers will cause the existing service to cease with their current provider. This means any ISDN lines, PSTN lines, Broadband or similar will automatically cancel when the number ports onto our platform.
When porting a number we need to see the most recent telephone bill, and receive a letter of authority from the range holder (customer) confirming they wish to port the number to FidoNet. A copy of the porting form can be found here
Charges
For multi line ports from PSTN there is a charge of £100, whilst all other ports and single number ports are charged at £40 per number.
Rejections and re-submissions are charged at £20 per action from April 1st 2013
The following timescales apply (guideline only)
Single Line | 7 working days |
Single Line with more than 10 lines porting at the same time | 14 working days |
Multi Line (One number and single DDIs) | 7 working days |
Multi Line - with a DDI range | 17 working days |
Multi Line - Complex DDI | 22 working days |
Porting times are between 10am and 11am Monday to Friday. Losing Providers can take up to an hour to actually finalise the port but service should not be affected during this time. If a port is not completed within one hour of the specified time we will begin the escalation procedure with the porting desk
